Her envy-inducing figure has helped build her brand and amass a whopping 1.6 million Instagram followers.But model-turned-actress Ellie Gonsalves hasn't always loved her curves.Speaking to Daily Mail on Thursday, the social media sensation said she's had insecurities about her figure, even at the age of 12. 'We all have our own insecurities over time, but sometimes they're played out in our head bigger than what they actually are...I love boobs now,' she said.Ellie recalled how mortified she was to have a shop assistant quiz her on where she had breasts done while trying on her first bikini at the age of 12. 'I don't think she even thought about it at the time before she said it. She ripped the curtain open with a handful of swimsuits and was like wow!!!!' Ellie explained.  The 27-year-old said that as she gets older she feels more confident in her skin. 'As a woman I think we all have our own insecurities over time, but sometimes they're played out in our head bigger than what they actually are. You have to remember that every other woman out there is just as concerned about how she looks as you are. 'I think it's cool to embrace what makes you different....and I love boobs now!' she added. Ellie stunned in a white '50s style bikini as she took to the runway at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim show in Sydney on Monday. The white two-piece showed off Ellie's lithe arms, cleavage, washboard stomach and trim pins.The Los Angeles-based star told Daily Mail Australia that she did not restrict calories in the lead-up to the show, but rather kept to a 'super' clean diet.'I don't restrict calories, for me to work out as hard as I do, I need the energy. I make sure I stay away from alcohol and processed foods. It's about eating food that is super clean,' she explained. 'I have been a vegetarian for seven years now. I have protein, good carbs, natural sugars and fats in my eating plan. All of those things are beneficial to our bodies operating like they should. So I don't like to cut carbs or natural sugars.'
